MFA First Years Exhibition Show Review Extravaganza!

Hello everyone.

i know its been a while since i have posted anything, but i am back with a vengeance...well kind of.

I just wanted to give my impression on how the first year MFA Exhibition was.
As most people have said this exhibition was just one big cluster EFF of art pieces with no sense of structure or themes at all. It looked as if though they were told the night before that they had to have something in the show, and feveriously whipped something up on the fly or just rummaged through their old stuff to find something decent enough to hang on the wall. It's kind of sad to think that the Art Open i was in 3 years ago was better exhibited and had better work then this of the MFA's. Now I am definitely not blaming them at all and saying that they are horrible artists, because they are not at all. This was more the fault of who ever was in charge of setting up who went were and what was being displayed. It was as if someone threw all of the work into a hat and then picked one out of it and put it on the wall in the order they were picked out. Very random and no sense of connections between artworks. The only room i felt worked was the room to the right when you walk in that had Megan's photographs. Which to begin with i really enjoyed a lot as i myself love those kind of black and white landscape photos. Also i think the artists in that room were complimenting each other the way an exhibition is supposed to do. I really feel bad for the first years because i feel like they were rushed into making something without even getting a chance to think about it.
This makes me very lucky and happy that we have a whole other semester to figure all this stuff out. This was a really good example of what not to do when putting on an exhibition.

JJM!
