I want to kick start my new hopefully bi weekly Blog about Artist that I Love...
This week i will be focusing on the photographer Damon Winter.
He is a very well known and successful photographer who's work ranges from celebrity portraits to landscapes and social documentary photography. In this particular series entitled "Alaska Abuse" he focuses on a particular community in Alaska that seems to be depressed about something and seem to be struggling to survive through the day. I want to show you the photos first without any explanation, then i would like to hear some of your reactions to the series and what you think is going on or what do you think he is trying to achieve with this. Everyone is welcomed to join in on the TalkBacks. I think it would be beneficial for each other as it is an exercise in talking about the meaning of the work without being spoiled by it before hand.
